Halloween Party Favours in Singapore: What Actually Goes in the Goodie Bag

Most Halloween goodie bags in Singapore are three cheap toys and something that melts. Here is what to put in one instead, what it costs per child, and how far ahead to order.

The goodie bag problem

A Halloween party favour has to do a specific job: survive a hot room and a car ride, look like it was chosen rather than grabbed, and cost a few dollars. Most bags fail on the first count, which is why the bin outside a party venue on 1 November is full of half-melted chocolate and plastic spider rings.

Halloween 2026 is Saturday 31 October, so parties will run across the whole weekend and the Friday before. That is more parties than usual, and more goodie bags.

What goes in one that works

The reliable formula in Singapore is one thing that keeps, one thing that does something, and one thing that looks good in the photo.

SlotWhat works hereBudget per child
KeepsHard candy in a jar, bag or pillow box — heat-stable, twelve-month shelf lifeS$3.20–5
Does somethingA small toy, a temporary tattoo, a card gameS$1–3
Looks goodA Happy Halloween label on the jar lidFree on 30g, 45g and 70g jars

You can compress all three into one item if the candy itself is the keepsake: a 45g hexagonal jar with a black lid and the Happy Halloween label, or a 50g pillow box printed as Frankenstein, a pumpkin or a skeleton, reads as a Halloween object on a table, holds up in the heat, and does not need a toy next to it to justify the bag.

The heat argument, once

A Halloween party favour in Singapore has to survive a room at 31°C, and chocolate does not. Boiled rock candy does. It is also nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, halal-certified and gluten-free, which is the difference between parents letting children eat it and parents quietly binning it.

Quantities, without guessing

  1. Count the invitation list, not the room. Party favours go to invited children; the siblings who tag along are your margin.
  2. Add 20%. Every party has late additions, and a child without a bag is a problem you cannot fix on the night.
  3. Round to packaging, not to weight. Twenty-five children is twenty-five jars, which is about 0.75kg in 30g jars — well under a custom minimum, so buy ready-made.
  4. Above roughly 130 children, you are past the 4kg custom minimum and a made-to-order batch starts to make sense on both cost and appearance.

Custom or ready-made

For a home party or a class, the ready-made Halloween Mix is the right call — it ships without a production lead time, and the jars and boxes already look the part.

Custom earns its keep for a company party, a mall activation or a school level, where you want the year, a name or a logo running through every piece. That needs a 4kg minimum and two to three weeks, and candy is only made Monday to Wednesday.

For a party on the Halloween weekend, a custom batch needs to be confirmed and paid by around 9 October. Miss that and ready-made is genuinely the better outcome, not a downgrade.

When to choose something else

If the party is for children under three, hard candy is a choking risk and you should skip it entirely. If your venue or school requires per-item allergen labelling, check their policy before ordering in bulk. And if you need more than a couple of hundred bags on a tight budget, supermarket sweets will beat anything handmade on cost per piece — that is simply true, and worth saying.

How to start

Pick the jars, bags and pillow boxes on the Halloween Mix page, or build a custom design on the Design Your Candy page — it gives you a live mock-up, a costed estimate, and tells you whether the making days still work for your date.
